Closed Our Doors

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce that Lupe’s Bakery will close its doors on September 24, 2016.

It was a very difficult decision but after over 21 years of service to this wonderful community, Lupe has decided to retire. We cannot thank you enough for the support that you have given us. We loved welcoming you into our humble little bakery.

Although the occasion is sad, we would like to reflect on all the happy memories. Some of our customers were babies when they first got hooked on our cookies. Now, they are bringing in their beautiful babies – and in some cases, they are bringing in grand babies! It’s been an incredible run and we are honored and humbled that for over two decades you chose us for your baking needs.

We are proud to have supported our community in the best way we could. Whether it was back to school backpacks, free cookies for reading kids, for awesome teachers, free birthday cakes to the Senior center, sponsorships or donations (Cookies!) to our local sports teams and organizations, we always felt it our responsibility to give back to our wonderful Shafter family.

A special thanks goes to our morning coffee crew who supported us from the beginning. Rain, or shine, hot or cold, they have been a part of our morning almost every day – except when we were closed. We cannot express how much their support has meant to us throughout these many years. All we can say is thank you!

This is short notice but we hope you’ll come by in the next couple of weeks to reminisce about the good old days and have a cookie or two. We may even break out some pictures!

Once again, thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

Our warmest regards,

Lupe’s Bakery
